Junior vs adult rec
Juniors
Comfort first. A thinner, softer multi, not a stiff poly bed. Growing players do not need ALU or Hyper-G to keep up; they need the ball to come off the strings without beating up the arm. Diadem pick: Impulse or Evolution. Full note.
Adult rec
Just want the ball in? Start multi: Velocity, or X-One for a nicer feel. Already hitting out and breaking soft string? A kinder co-poly like Tour Bite Soft or Diadem Solstice Power is the step up. Still a poly. Diadem pick for comfort: Dark Matter.
Poly or co-poly?
Nearly every modern poly is technically a co-polymer. We split them by feel: poly means firmer, shaped or control-first; co-poly means rounder and softer, built for feel.
When does poly go dead?
Often before it snaps. If the bed feels boardy and the launch changes, restring.
Are all synthetic guts the same?
Close enough that price and availability should decide. Want more comfort? Step up to a multi, not a fancier syn gut.
