Comfort multi. Not poly.
Most kids do not need a stiff polyester bed. They need the ball to come off the strings without a board. Growing arms are still finding a swing. ALU and Hyper-G will not help them "keep up." They will make tennis feel like work.
Who it's for
Juniors in a real racket (not foam). High-school parents who want comfort first. Anyone whose kid is still building a swing.
Who it is not for
The rare junior who already hits a heavy ball and snaps multi every week. Even then I would rather hybrid than full poly.
Winner: Wilson NXT 17
17 ga plays a little livelier and softer than 16. You restring more often than poly. That is the trade, and it is the right one for most kids.
