Yonex's soft co-poly in 17: good pocketing, a medium launch and real touch on drops and volleys. It is lively fresh, but like the 18 it loses tension early, so it plays best in the first few hours. String 2 to 3 lb under your multi tension. Suits all-court players who value feel over durability; it lasts a little longer than the 18. If it dies too fast, Hyper-G Soft 17.
Best for: Feel and touch. Feel: Soft, connected. Gauge: 17 / 1.20. Look at the gauge on the pack before it goes in the racket.
